A Litter of Love
Few sights are as heartwarming as a mother cat with her brood, keeping a patient eye on every little one. This piece captures that tender scene, which makes it a favorite with anyone who has ever fostered a litter or raised kittens at home.

For Cat People Everywhere
It suits a new mother who also adores her cat, a foster volunteer at the local shelter, a veterinarian, or a grandmother whose house is never without a feline. Mother's Day is a natural occasion, and so is a family reunion. Set it on a sunny windowsill, a bedside table or a bookshelf where a real cat might nap nearby.
Small porcelain boxes became popular in 18th-century France as holders for snuff and pills, and today they carry gentler subjects like this one.
