A potted cactus bursts into bloom, proving that even the toughest plant has a soft side. The pot and its flowering cactus were painted by hand in Limoges, France.
Blooms in the Desert
Cactus flowers are famously fleeting, often lasting only a day or two, which makes a blooming cactus something of an event in any plant lover's home. This porcelain version keeps the moment going indefinitely, with no watering schedule required. It is the one plant on the shelf that will never need repotting.

For Green Thumbs and Desert Dwellers
It suits a succulent collector, a friend who just moved to Arizona or New Mexico, a botanist, or someone who claims they can't keep anything alive. Give it as a housewarming present for a sunny condo or as a thank-you for a garden club host. Set it on a windowsill, a bright kitchen shelf or a desk that never sees enough sunlight.
