Einige Spitzen (1925) by Wassily Kandinsky is a landmark of mature abstraction from one of modernism’s most influential voices. Created in the mid-1920s, when Kandinsky was honing a rigorous visual language at the height of his career, the painting turns away from recognizable subjects toward an orchestration of points, lines, and planes. The title—often translated as “Several Points”—hints at the work’s crisp, angular thrusts and buoyant orbs, which seem to pulse with musical rhythm rather than depict a literal scene.
This listing offers a museum-quality fine art print of Einige Spitzen, produced with richly pigmented inks on your choice of acid-free archival paper or artist’s cotton canvas. The Unique Maps Co. prints to order in a range of sizes, with optional framing to suit contemporary or classic interiors. Personalization is available—add a discreet caption, date, or dedication—and our studio can adjust margins, crops, or background tone on request to help your print harmonize with your space.
Wassily Kandinsky (1866–1944) was a pioneering figure of abstract art, active across Russia, Germany, and France. By the 1920s he was a central force in shaping modern painting, advocating for a new, non-objective language that paralleled music in its capacity to convey emotion. His theories on color, form, and inner necessity championed the idea that art need not describe the world to move us deeply—it could instead evoke structure, energy, and spiritual resonance through purely visual means.
Einige Spitzen captures this philosophy with striking clarity. Angular motifs—triangles, darts, and “points”—push across the picture plane, meeting circular forms and taut vector lines that imply motion, counterpoint, and tension. Rather than narrating a story, the composition stages an encounter between forces: gravity and lift, edge and curve, stasis and surge. Painted in 1925, it reflects the confidence of an artist who had fully embraced abstraction, distilling the spirit of the early 20th century’s technological and cultural acceleration into a poised, non-representational drama.
The color relationships are key to the work’s intensity. A dominant red field anchors the composition, energized by flashes of blue and orange, with crisp black linear structures that both divide and connect the elements. Accents of cool green and luminous white punctuate the surface, heightening contrast and spatial ambiguity. Overlapping shapes, some smooth and others more densely worked, create a layered depth that feels at once precise and improvisational—an elegant balance of control and spontaneity that makes the print compelling in living rooms, studios, and offices alike.
As a gift, this fine art print is effortlessly thoughtful—perfect for Christmas, birthdays, Father’s or Mother’s Day, housewarmings, graduations, or for anyone who loves modern art, design, and the history of abstraction. A timeless conversation piece, it brings Kandinsky’s vivid rhythm and color into everyday life.
